House of Vans Detroit

Here’s a few shots from a roll of film I shot while working at HOV. This event was easily the biggest we have been a part of and I think we killed it. We built a whole store, made a bunch of new merch and made so many new friends! It was amazing to meet people we have looked up to for years, and see them wearing our shirts! Thank you Vans, Creative Drinking, Joe Brook, Greg Hunt, Steve Van Doren, Christian Hosoi, Peter, House of Vans, Jason Smith, Jay Howell, Quasi, Alltimers, Quartersnacks, Sky High, and especially everyone who came and checked us out!

New Coda Ad

This photo is in Lowcard as a Coda Skateboards ad. I was always really hyped on this photo, because I saw that he did this and asked him to go back for a photo. Below the photo is an outtake of Derrick getting in the way.

2018

Thankful for another great year! Here’s some of my favorite digital photos from start to finish. Love everyone. Happy new year! 2019 let’s get it!!

Coda Skateboards Detroit Show 12-08-2018

Jeremy Cooper made a new video of the Detroit Coda team, Pat Galloway, Johnny Cleary, and Geoffro. Pat and I have talked about doing a photo show with the video for over a year. So we decided to have it at Will Leather Goods, because they are always down to let us do anything we want, pretty much whenever. Below are the photos I used in the show, great times! Thank you Coda, Detroit Beer Co. Jeremy, Pat Smith, Johnny, PG, Hebert, and Will Leather Goods!!

Packard Plant Tour

This summer Tone let me tag along with him at the Packard Plant, I met up while I was on my way to work. It was nice being able to explore the whole place without worrying about anyone messing with you. Thanks Tone!

Coda Photo Show

We are back at Will Leather Goods in MIdtown Saturday December 8th. This time we will be showing a new video with Johnny, Geoffro, and a full part from Pat. I will have some photos up along with it. As well as Hebert as the DJ and beer by Detroit Beer Co. See you there!

First Tone

Every time I put a new roll of film in my Minolta I always plot what to do with the first shot. One day it came to my mind to ask Tone to do some kind of air. At first I hoped I got it lined up so you could see where he was airing from around where the burn line is. I told him we had only one try, but I knew he had it cuz I’ve seen him do this a million times. When I got the film back I was pretty hyped on how this came out.  As always, another reason why I love film and the uncertainty of it. Thanks Tone!

Hamlin Lake Weekend.

A weekend of fun at my dads cottage on Hamlin Lake. These photos were shot with my Stylus using the psychadelic blues film. I was really hyped to try the film at night, and I like how they came out. A few were shot by Donald. Great times, can't wait to go back! Great group of guys.

Wigs 4th Birthday.

This past Sunday we celebrated The Wig's fourth birthday, as most people know it wasn't supposed to make it this far. I'm wondering if it will ever go?or will they build stupid looking unaffordable condos? Either way we had to celebrate. We got some gear from REAL, Spitfire, Krooked, and Refuge to give out. The decision was to have the first ever one-minute run contest. It worked out pretty well and we had about twenty-five competitors. Jerry from WUB even got us custom CP work vests! It was just like most summer weekends at the park a lot of good homies, meeting new people, grilling, and relaxing. Hopefully somehow it makes it to five!

Easily one of my favorite moments of the day below, this kid was riding his bike around and he stopped for a sec. Johnny didn't even ask but ollied over his bike while the kid was still on it. I wasn't ready to get a photo because it happened so quick. I asked him if Johnny could try it again. Two tries later we got it. Everyone was hyped!

After the run contest Derrick made a shark board with a custom graphic featuring his son Oliver, and he wanted to see a best trick using the board. Joey, and JZ got down with the board, and later on Joey got iced.

As always the OG Larry had to come through to hype event up.

Super fun day! Above are the winners of the contest Jeremy Cooper, Johnny Cleary, and Justin Zimmerman. As well as the band “native sun” that closed it out for us. Thanks again to everyone for showing up, great times!
