We decided to finally build something at the north end of the wig. Considering we have a year left before development we thought now was the time. Here's some photos from it, more to come. Thanks to all that helped out!
Nain Rouge 2017
Last year I missed this parade. I really don't know much about besides it's something about the devil and Detroit. I wasn't missing it this year especially since it goes right by my house. There was a big trump presence with a fire spitting head, and a trump look a like on a megaphone. The ghostbusters and fire department were also in attendance. We headed to The Old Miami for an after party that topped off a perfect Sunday. Good times.

Some random roids from my 210. Finally got around to scanning them all.
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico January 11th - 14th. A friend of mine asked me to go down to PR for a January skate vacation. At first I was skeptical because of finances like usual. I decided fuck it I'm not missing this, and it was only four days. I quickly found out you need way more than four days on that island. I saw so many things just from the van that I wish I could have stopped to see. I can't believe how much we did in so little time.
We started off by getting in at 5am to an arrival beer waiting for us. The fist day was full of Medalla Light, a beach down the street, and an epic plaza to skate. I then found out we would be making our way two hours west to Rincon. Later that day we made the drive and ate some perfect tacos at place we ended up calling the taco jail because there were jail like bars around it. The next day we ended up at a beach called crash boats beach. This place was heavenly, with fresh coconuts being served and huge waves.
After that we traveled to a place called Mayaguez, but not before eating and playing pool on a mountain over looking the ocean. In Mayaguez there was a skate park that seemed DIY but not, and was on the beach. At this point I couldn't believe my eyes. The nightlife in Rincon was great we started off by getting some kind of alcoholic coconut drink on the water. After we ventured downtown to see some art at a fair and catch a show at the taco jail. The music ended up being super cool, and there it was a very surfer like atmosphere. (Later on I found out the city is famous for surfing). Leaving Rincon was sad but before we parted ways we at brunch and drank pina coladas at a beach restaurant. On our drive back we were checking some spots and got a pin to skate park. We took a wrong turn and ended up at one of the most epic spots we had seen. We had to race the light but managed to get down on it before driving back.
It was a bummer to leave but we headed back to Old San Juan where we would spend our last day. This airbnb was definitely the best one yet. That night we went out in the city to find that most of the people were super young, so we got some rest for early pre flight missions in the morning. We woke up got coffee and headed straight to a beach front skate plaza. Dodging the rain was hard but once it stopped we ended up at one of the best skate spots San Juan has to offer. We all loved the spot so much we were losing track of time. A few of us still wanted to take photos in Old San Juan before we left. There wasn't much time but we made it happen, even after running as fast as we could through the city to get back to the car. It was jam packed but couldn't have asked for a better trip! I felt like I was outside of the country, seeing people riding horses, street cats everywhere, and super cheap beer, but were were still in the US cant wait to go back!!!
STYL~LESS
I wanted to have a photo show with some friends. We all met when we all moved to Detroit a while back. Colin Hatch came here from Chicago, Jake Miller from Austin, and Brandon Oakey from Malibu. We all kinda randomly realized we used the same point and shoot camera the Olympus Stylus. So we figured we show thirty of our favorite photos. We chose to do the show all 4 x 6 prints and at Dunwell Dry Goods in Hamtramck. It went over well and was a great time. Thank you to Brandon, Jake, Colin, and Pat at Dunwell.
Shorts @ Dunwell
Francois hosted a video premiere at Dunwell the other day. It showed 9 really cool skate videos on this crazy TV set up. Thanks to Dunwell Dry Goods, Francois, and PBR for throwing cool events.

Adroit in Detroit @ Dunwell
This art show was put on by Thrasher Magazine & Joe Brook. The show had work from Stefan Janoski, Nick Jaskey, Ray Barbee, Ewan Bowman, Zered Bassett, Joe Brook, Jason Adams, Dolan Stearns, and Javier Mendizabal.
Ray Barbee not only had some really cool panoramic photos but he blessed us with a performance as well!
Dolan Stevens had tons of stuff that he has found around the world that he adds his paint to. He also painted the outside of the building.
Before this show I had no idea Stefan, Ray, or Jason did any sort of art. Their stuff was amazing. Wish I could've bought some. Thank you for choosing to do this in Detroit, and thanks Dunwell for putting cool stuff on.
Jim's Halloween Party
Jim had his annual party on the Thursday before Halloween. It was also Pats birthday weekend. Definitely fun and exhausting.
Ludington/Hamlin Lake October 1-2
A few friends and I went on a weekend trip up to my dads place on Hamlin Lake. We got into town Friday night around 11 and went to some bars. We got flagged into the dance floor by an older lady that whispered "it only takes one old lady" to us. The next day we went to downtown Ludington, skated the skate park, and relaxed. On the way home the last day we stopped in Grand Rapids to skate Clemente Park. Braydon and everyone who built it did a great job! Epic weekend trip considering we almost didn't go because of rain in the forecast.
After chilling at a couple bars the night we got in we got some rest hoping it would be dry the next morning. We woke up to a peaceful dry day and headed to the skate park in downtown Ludington. Only Matt had been to the park before and usually new parks are always fun. This one was no different it was really fun, not to mention it was on the beach! We even hooked a kid up with a board.
After skating the park for more than three hours I convinced the guys to walk/skate the pier. I knew with it raining in the distance there was some photo possibilities I couldn't pass up. Once we got to the end I asked Pat to do a trick one more time and his board slept out and went into the water. He attempted to climb in to get it but realized it was ten feet down. Bummer, but we still had fun, and even got to see and amazing sunset.
On Sunday we knew we wanted to hit Grand Rapids and go to Clemente Park. It was an hour and a half from Ludington so we headed out around noon. It is a DIY park built by some guys that have visited out DIY park quite a few times. They did a great job building and it was very fun to skate. The best part was watching Braydon skate with his dog chasing him around. Wish I didn't run out of film and could've got more. We ended the trip by going to Founders Brewery. I knew it was there but didn't know how good the sandwiches would be. We were also lucky enough to see a cool twenty person jazz band playing as well. Can't wait to do this same trip and more soon!
